Bybit vs OKX in 2026: Fees, EU Licences and Rewards Compared
At the base tier OKX charges 0.08% maker / 0.10% taker on spot and 0.020% / 0.050% on futures; Bybit charges 0.10% / 0.10% and 0.020% / 0.055% (fee pages read 23 September 2026). Paid in MNT, Bybit’s spot rate falls to 0.075%. In the EEA, OKX Europe charges 0.08% / 0.10% against Bybit EU’s 0.10% / 0.25%, and of the two only OKX offers futures there.
Bybit: EEA residents are directed to Bybit EU, where PCNVIP does not apply; the UK service (since December 2025) offers spot and P2P only and no referral rewards; not available in the US. OKX: EEA residents use OKX Europe (Malta); in the US only through OKX US in approved locations.
The first button is a plain link to OKX; we have no affiliate relationship with OKX. The second is our Bybit affiliate link: Bybit pays us a commission; it costs you nothing and does not change your fees.
Bybit vs OKX fees at the base tier
Without a fee token OKX is cheaper on two of the four base rates and level on the other two. Paid in MNT, every Bybit rate falls below OKX’s; OKX has no equivalent, as its fee FAQ (updated 9 September 2026) says holding OKB does not offset trading fees.
| Base tier | Bybit (VIP 0) | Bybit, fees in MNT | OKX (regular) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spot, maker / taker | 0.10% / 0.10% | 0.075% / 0.075% | 0.08% / 0.10% |
| Perpetuals / futures, maker / taker | 0.020% / 0.055% | 0.018% / 0.0495% | 0.020% / 0.050% |
| Per 10,000 USD, spot maker | 10.00 USD | 7.50 USD | 8.00 USD |
| Per 10,000 USD, futures taker | 5.50 USD | 4.95 USD | 5.00 USD |
Bybit fee structure (updated 2 September 2026) and MNT FAQ; OKX fee page, Spot and Futures tabs, shown from Switzerland under the OKX Europe footer; read 23 September 2026. The MNT discount does not apply to API, bot, copy-trading or liquidation orders. Perpetual futures are leveraged: a small price move against you can liquidate the position and lose the entire margin.
The MNT route means holding a token whose price moves. Futures fees are charged on the full notional value, not the margin. Bybit charges no liquidation fee on perpetuals and futures (help centre, updated 8 April 2026); a liquidated position still loses its margin.

ESMA CASP register, Bybit EU and OKX fee pages, OKX’s EEA derivatives terms (dated 7 September). OKX does not say whether its Futures-tab rate applies to X-Perps. Perpetual futures are leveraged: a small price move against you can liquidate the position and lose the entire margin.
Bybit is restricting its global platform for EEA residents in phases (notice of 29 June 2026) and says Bybit EU is seeking further Austrian licences for a broader product range. Until then this page does not treat Bybit’s perpetuals or copy trading as available in the EEA, and PCNVIP does not apply on Bybit EU. See MiCA-licensed exchanges.
Bybit and OKX in the UK and the US, and what the codes do
| Region or item | Bybit | OKX |

OKX Terms of Service (updated 17 September 2026), Risk and Compliance Disclosure (updated 8 July 2026) and copy trading FAQ. Bybit’s reward vouchers cannot be withdrawn, profits can; its 30,000 USDT top new-user tier needs a 250,000 USD deposit plus 150 million USDT of volume.
Bybit and OKX: copy trading and security record
Copy trading, outside the EEA. OKX states that lead traders take 8% to 13% of a copier’s profits, copied trades pay the normal tier fee, and copy trading is not supported in the US, Canada, the UK and Malta, among others (FAQ updated 11 August 2026). Bybit’s Copy Trading Classic charges normal derivatives fees with no extra trading fee and excludes bonuses; copiers share part of their profits with the master trader (FAQ updated 15 September 2026).
Security. On or about 21 February 2025 Bybit was hacked; the FBI attributed the theft of about 1.5 billion USD in virtual assets to North Korea (FBI announcement I-022625-PSA, 26 February 2025). This page cites incidents only from a law-enforcement, regulator or operator source it links; none was read for OKX, which is not evidence that none occurred.

Verdict: Bybit vs OKX by where you live
In the EEA. OKX Europe, and we have no affiliate relationship with OKX: 0.08% / 0.10% on spot against Bybit EU’s 0.10% / 0.25%, nine licensed services against five, coverage including Malta, and crypto-linked futures that Bybit EU does not offer.
Outside the EEA, for example in Switzerland. A narrow OKX win at base rates: 0.08% against 0.10% as a spot maker, 0.050% against 0.055% as a futures taker. Bybit, which pays us a commission through the link above, is cheaper only if you pay fees in MNT (0.075% spot, 0.0495% futures taker) and accept holding that token, or if Bybit’s own new-user rewards matter to you. On or about 21 February 2025 Bybit was hacked; the FBI attributed the theft of about 1.5 billion USD to North Korea. Perpetual futures are leveraged: a small price move against you can liquidate the position and lose the entire margin.
In the UK and the US. Both restrict their UK offer, and Bybit pays no referral rewards there. In the US only OKX US, in its approved locations, is an option.
